Finally she'd found someone with a private plane that was willing to take her back to Solaceon Town. She was glad it had only taken a few days. She missed the Ranch, she missed the babies, she missed everything about the quiet little town. She sighed a bit as she wiped the sweat from her brow, wiping it off on the worn jeans she had bought in Sangdem Town. she realized that a dress was not the best for travel, especially when she was walking all that way.
As usual, she was lost in her thoughts until she jumped, feeling something brush up against her leg. She looked down and grinned when she saw Stella weaving between her legs, looking a little worn herself. "Don't worry, Stella, we'll be there soon...Hopefully." She gave yet another sigh as she trudged along the path, hoping Twinleaf wasn't that far ahead. Artemis did not know how much more of it she could handle. Sure, she had worked on a Ranch all of her life, but just straight walking with nothing to do was completely different.

As the girl walked along the path, she obviously didn't realize that she was being watched. Or followed, for that matter. Some bushes rustled as she passed, however stopped imediently when it seemed that they were making too much noise. There was a moment where the shrubery was quiet, and then, as the girl was far enough along, a head popped out of the bushes, watching her curiously. After a moment, obviously not wanting the girl to get too far, the creature popped out, and made a large cry.
A WILD MEDITITE APPEARED!  Male | Lvl 6 | Pure Power Bide | Meditate | Ice Punch
"Meditite!" the little Pokemon cried as it got into a fighting position, obviously ready to battle. It seemed like a spunky little Meditite, although it's expression was as serious as such a Pokemon's expression could get. Would the girl accept the battle?

Artemis was about ready to take a break. She stopped walking and plopped down on the ground, a weary sigh leaving her lips. Stella moved close to her, nudging the girl's arm with her head, looking behind her cautiously. "What is it, girl?" Artemis peeked behind her, but there was nothing there. "There's nothing there, Stella, it's ok." Still, Stella pushed harder, trying to get her owner to move. "Okay, okay!" A groan escaped the girl's lips as she stood, starting the trek again.
She did not make it very far, though, before a small Pokemon jumped out in front of her, looking as if it wanted to fight. A loud scream escaped her lips, and Stella instantly jumped in front of Artemis, willing to protect her owner at all costs.
 Tackle||Leer Level 5
Stella braced herself, stepping back a bit. Her body seemed to glow a bit before she rushed off, racing towards the Meditite. Artemis screamed a little bit. She was still against the whole fighting, thing. But it was natural for Pokemon. Plus, it would be a good way for her to get more Breeders for her Ranch.

Well, he startled the girl, so that was a plus, right? Not so much, actually.The Shinx she owned reacted instantly, launching a tackle straight for him. Not being entirely ready, the little dual type Pokemon instantly flew backwards due to the hit, skidding to a stop on his back. It took him a moment before he groaned and managed to pull himself up. He didn't look too pleased at all, really, with what just happened.
Rather suddenly, the little Meditite sat on the ground, getting into a position to meditate.After a moment, it's body was sourounded in white, before it disappated. It seemed a little stronger after that, and stood up, albeit with a little bit of a wobbly stance. For a moment, the Meditite did nothing, then suddenly, it stood in a rather defensive position, it's body outlining in white again. It seemed to be bideing it's time.

Artemis stood in shock as Stella knocked the little Pokemon over. She had to smile though. "It worked! L-Let's try another tackle!" Stella had skidded to a halt after hitting the Pokemon, turning around to face its back. Hopefully, she could do some more damage while it was just sitting there.
Tackle||Leer
Stella's body started to glow again, almost as the other Pokemon's had, but hers had a slightly yellow sheen to it. At Artemis's command, Stella took off, aiming straight for the Meditite's back with another tackle. Artemis continued to watch on, worried about Stella's health. She knew her little Shinx would not last long due to all of the walking, but Stella was a little trooper, and Artemis knew she would never back down if it meant keeping her owner safe.

Due to the Meditie's Bide, it wasn't able to do much in terms of attacking or moving. The little Shinx managed to knock him back a bit, however the Meditite instantly went back into a defensive position, trying to keep himself from falling over. The little Shinx was strong, and maybe it could outlast the Bide he was storing up for next turn. The more she attacked him, of course, the stronger he got until he could finally unleash it, and all of the tackles the trainer was having it use wasn't helping it too much.

Tackle||Leer[/size] Artemis stood away from the two, chewing on her lip, slightly. Stella skidded to a stop just in front of her, panting heavily. The speed was taking too much out of her, and Artemis saw it. She also noticed that the attack barely did anything to the other Pokemon. She had to change her strategy. "Ok, Stella. Time for a new approach. Use Leer! The Shinx tensed up before she stood her ground, simply staring at the Meditite. Her eyes glowed a strange green as she simply stared. Artemis shivered a little bit, hoping this wasn't all for nothing. "Good job, Stella, hold your ground!" The little Shinx did just that, digging its paws into the ground a bit as she continued the green-glowed leer.

At least the Pokemon didn't use tackle this time. The Meditite shuddered lightly as the Shinx leered at him, his defense dropping a bit in the process. Now, however, hos charging time was up, and he could attack again. Seeming to puff up, the Meditite's cheeks swelled, as if holding in air in his mouth. After a moment, Meditite released the energy, blowing a small orb of white light back at the Shinx, in the hopes of using it's own power against it. Well, sort of.

Tackle||Leer[/size] Artemis watched in fear as the Meditite puffed up before releasing all of the energy at Stella. Artemis was just able to jump out of the way of the beam, rolling off to the side of the battle. A little blood dripped from her knee, but it was nothing serious. Stella was not so lucky though. She had tried to dodge the attack, but it caught her hind legs, causing her to belly flop the ground. Artemis screamed slightly, but forced herself to stand up. She wouldn't stand for someone hurting her friend. "Stella! You can do this! Let's...Let's try another Leer!"
Stella shakily got to her legs. She was a bit cut up, but there was no fatal damage done. The Shinx stood her ground as her eyes glowed green again. She stared down the tiny Pokemon that threatened her and her owner. "Now go for a Tackle!" With her eyes still green, Stella charged forwards. Turning her head slightly, bracing herself for any impact.

Well, he didn't really mean to try and hit the girl. He wasn't up for things like hurting humans unless they attacked him first or something like that. She seemed fine, however, with just a little bloodied up knee, so she wasn't too terribly hurt, right? She didn't seem to act like it, anyway.
The Shinx was not to lucky, and still got hit by the attack, if only mildly. It got right back up, however, and had again leered at him. The Meditite seemed to be refusing to dodge anymore, and instead shuddered as he took the hit, his defense lowering even more than before. The Shinx then barreled at him with a tackle, and the Meditite instantly braced itself, placing it's arms in an 'x' as the Shin hit him. The little Meditite, obviously not braced enough, flew back and hit a nearby tree, crying out at the impact.The Meditite then fell to the ground, seeming immobilized by the hit. It didn't look like it was getting up too soon, either.
WILD MEDITITE FAINTED!
SHINX GAINED 2 LEVELS!
WILL YOU CATCH WILD MEDITITE, OR LEAVE IT BE?

Level 7[/size] Artemis was both shocked and worried as Stella hit the smaller Pokemon. When the Meditite went flying, the girl knew it was time to act. She pulled one of the pokeballs off of her belt and tossed it at the Pokemon. She held her breath before her eyes widened. Stella stood next to her, perfectly fine. Her fur glowed a little bit, and she seemed to be a little bigger. Artemis couldn't help but grin and kneel down, hugging the Shinx to her. "That's my girl. I'm so proud of you." She kissed the top of the Shinx's head. "When we get back to the Ranch, I'll make you a nice big dinner for doing such a good job."

Artemis was shocked. She had actually captured a Pokemon! She gave a small squeal of happiness as she picked up the Pokeball, attaching it to her belt. "It's great to have you on the team, Brick." She said with a happy smile. She looked down to Stella, then, who was looking towards the road. She could almost see Twinleaf town from where she was. "We're almost there. Let's keep going. This battling stuff is actually kind of fun. Maybe we'll run into something else! More additions for the Ranch are always welcome." Stella purred in agreement as they started along the path again.
Sounds from the Town were already drifting to her ears, and excitement filled her. Soon, she would be back to Solaceon town, where she could raise her Pokemon properly and make her brother proud. That was all she wanted to do. Of course, she wanted to make her parents proud by keeping the Ranch alive, but she knew that Amber was doing a good job at that. She had faith in the girl.That's why she hired her.

From above, a small Pokemon had watched the whole thing, albeit a bit curiously. She didn't get the point of battling, and just thought that it was barbaric and wasn't worth a thing to try and do. All you did was get hurt and sometimes captured like that Meditite did, right? That's what it looked like from up here. And she had a bird's eye view of everything as well! Hopping down lower to the branches nearest to the girl, the little bird chirped and whistled curiously at the two. The Shinx seemed pretty weakened already, although she didn't know if the Pokemon knew an electrical type attack or not. And she didn't want to get hurt that quickly.

Up ahead of the girl and her Shinx, a Starly landed on a visible branch, it's head cocking from side to side in a curious manner as it watched the duo approach. "Starly!" it said, rather loudly, flapping it's wings before going to an even lower branch to try and see what they were doing now.

Artemis and Stella had not gotten that far when they heard whistling and chirping up ahead of them. Artemis turned her head just in time to see a small Starly perching on a branch almost right next to them. The Pokemon did not look like it wanted to hurt them, so Artemis smiled at it. "Well hullo there. Aren't you a cute little Starly?" She grinned at it before she reached into her bag, pulling out a small plastic container. "Are you hungry?" She cautiously approached the branch as she opened the container, pulling out some of her homemade Pokefood on the branch before stepping back. Stella's mouth watered at the smell of the apples, mango, and grain Artemis had used to make the food.
Artemis's brain was on overdrive. A Starly would be a great addition to the Ranch, but Stella was still injured, and she didn't know what Brick would do, so maybe she could just befriend it, and hopefully it would go with her willingly.
