As a slender brunette slumbered in bed, a tiny Starly floated up to her pillow, tapping lightly at the girl’s forehead with its beak. The girl simply mumbled a bit in her sleep and rolled over, leaving the Pokemon to frown slightly. “Star-Starly!!” The light, shrill voice of the Starly drifted the room, causing another sleeping form to wake. The small Shinx flung herself out of her basket, bouncing straight onto the bed. She climbed over the sleeping girl and planted a firm slap to the side of her head. Finally, the girl awoke, sitting straight up. When she saw the two Pokemon on her bed she gave a small sigh, shaking her head. ”You two will never let me sleep in, will you?” When both Pokemon shook their heads, the girl had to laugh. She shook her head once more as she crawled out of the bed, her long night gown sweeping across the floor as she moved to her wardrobe. Without even looking, she pulled a bright pink t-shirt out of the dresser, before pulling out a pair of black over-all’s. ”You two be good while I get ready.” She said to the two Pokemon, pointing at them before she slipped into the bathroom to get ready for her day. Her shower was unusually quick, and she threw her clothes on even faster. The sooner she got the Ranch open for the day, the sooner she could help support it. She ran a brush through her hair quickly before she braided the long strands into one long braid that fell down her back, almost hitting her hips. Once that was done, she slid a simple white bandana with pink flowers over her hair and made her way back to her bedroom. The two Pokemon were wrestling on the bed, but instantly stopped when they saw their owner come into the room. The girl shook her head at the two of them before she sat down on her bed to slide on her socks and shoes. ”Stella, can you go get Nora? Have her start feeding the babies early.” The Shinx gave a slight bow before she hopped off to complete her task. ”Sky, go check on the eggs in the Hatchery.” The Starly nodded and hopped away to do her duty, leaving the girl to tie her shoes and meander down the stairs. She flipped on the main room lights before she moved to the door, switching the sign from closed, to open, before she made her way into the back room kitchen to start making food for her hungry wards. She was proud of the fact that she made all of the Pokefood herself, and made it all from natural ingredients. As she started slicing up fruits on a cutting board, the Starly entered through the screen door, shaking her head. ”Thank you, Sky. Now, can you go ask Brick to pick me some more apples and get me a bag of grain from the storage shed?” The Pokemon looked happy to go off and do her job, as the girl kept on chopping up fruit.

I stretched as I walked down a gravel path. Tuft, my Pikachu, was draped over my shoulder as it slept. I hadn't worn an over-sized sweatshirt today, so my Pikachu had to settle for my shoulder. I currently wore green short shorts that stopped mid way down my thighs, a white t-shirt with a big master ball in the center, purple clip on suspenders, camouflage army lace up boots, and last but not least, thin black tights underneath my shorts. I yawned as it was pretty early. I had been walking half of yesterday continuing to day with short breaks. I had no where to sleep because I was just on a journey. Right now I'm just exploring to see new sites and train my pokemon to battle my first gym battle. "Pika? Pik Pikachu?" Tuft lifted it's head and looked at me. I smiled and patted it on the head. "Morning bed head." Tuft frowned as it messed with the tuft of fur on it's forehead that no one could fix. I laughed as Tuft slowly got into sitting position on my shoulder. I looked around when the Pikachu let out a loud squeal. It jumped off my shoulder and ran towards as a Starly which seemed to heading into a barn of some sort. "Wait! Tuft! Get back here, you can't go onto someone else's property with no permission!" Being forced, I chased after Tuft who seemed to want the Starly for breakfast.

Artemis whistled quietly as she chopped up the ingredients for the Pokefood. Once all of the ingredients were chopped, she tossed them all into a bowl, mushing and mixing them together. From the upstairs apartment, a Chatot came whipping down, landing on the counter. "Morning, morning!" Artemis couldn't help but laugh slightly. Of course, she still wasn't fully used to a Pokemon talking to her. "What's for breakfast?" This time, Artemis rolled her eyes. "I'm making breakfast cakes with your favorite, mango." The Chatot twilled a bit before it froze. "Something's coming." The Pokemon said quietly.
Artemis froze as well, putting down her cooking tools. She heard the shout, then. A girl, was shouting at...Whatever a Tuft was. Artemis chewed the inside of her lip, slightly before she stepped out of the farm house, rounding the front of it from the back. She wiped her hands on her apron as she ran. Finally, she spotted a yellow thing dashing into one of the barns, and the girl chasing it. "Excuse me! Miss? Is there a problem?" She waved the girl over to her. "Sora, go on back into the house, make sure Brick doesn't make any trouble." The Chatot nodded and flew off, leaving Artemis to deal with the newcomer.

I looked over and cringed as a girl came out. Oh boy, that little pest Pikachu of mine was going to get after this! I looked over worriedly. I threw a pokeball and my Oddish came out. "Flourish, use sweet scent to get Tuft back out here!" My Oddish, Flourish, looked up and nodded at me with it big and cute eyes. The pokemon luring scent filled the air. "Odd odd oddish!" I puffed out the last of it and I patted it on the head. "I'm sorry for intruding Miss. Tuft, my first pokemon Pikachu, tried chasing after your Starly! I really told it to stop, but it was caught up in chasing it. I really didn't want to intrude." Flourish and I looked sideways as we spotted Tuft walking over looking a like a zombie, due to the sweet scent of course. I grabbed it and gave a crack on the head. "Pika? Pikachu Pika!" For a moment it looked bewildered then it started to struggle to go back to the Starly. I frowned as it struggled. I looked down at my little Oddish who seemed to be half worried and half amused. "Flourish, if you will." I gestured to Tuft and the little grass pokemon sighed. It let out the pink tinted gas again and Tuft immediately lagged in my arms. Flourish return, By the way, I'm Sara."

Artemis had to laugh as she explained the situation. "Oh! It's no problem at all. Passer-by's are usually drawn here because their Pokemon usually see one of mine." She gave the girl a bright smile, watching carefully as the Oddish lured the Pikachu back to the girl. She laughed again when the Pikachu went limp, shaking her head slightly. "Really, I'm fine with it." She gave the girl a smile, then, giving a nod. "My name's Artemis. I own this Ranch." Her grin was bright, proud of herself for building her family Ranch up from almost nothing.
She looked behind her, chewing the inside of her cheek slightly. "Would you like to come inside for breakfast? I was just finishing making the Pokemon their food, and I was going to whip myself something up as well." She gave the girl a sort of motherly look. The girl looked worn and hungry, and the least Artemis could do was feed the poor girl, and give her somewhere to sleep for a while. "Please, I insist."

Now she was talking Tuft's language. Tuft could probably understand the meaning of breakfast by now. The Pikachu jumped from arms as if out of a long sleep. It ran up to Artemis and ran circles around her legs with squeaks of happiness. "Pika pika pika pikachu!" I smiled as Tuft ran back and jumped to the place on my shoulder where it had previously been sitting. "I really don't want to impose, but if you insist upon it I shall." I laughed. I pulled out my pokeballs and threw them. My pokemon came out and started playing with each other. "Good thing I already fed my little friends here. If I hadn't given them the last of the food, I wouldn't have met you!" I laughed as Tuft bounded away to play with Flourish and Sport, the Oddish and Poliwag. Tele my Abra teleported away to a near by tree to hide it's self. I lifted my pokeball and Tele returned. I let it out again by the others. The Abra looked at me with a nervous frown. I nodded my head and pointed at the others. It slowly made it's way over and was greeted with loud happy squeals from Sport and Tuft. Flourish just hung back. "Okay guys, say hi to Artemis, she's a real nice gal!" I pointed to Artemis and even Abra walked up to greet her my giving out happy yells. "Ab abra..""Poli Poli!""Oddish Oddish.""Pika!!!" I sighed as Tuft started marching away with other following like chicks to mother hen.

Artemis could not help but laugh as all of the Pokemon came out. "Well. Come on inside, then. There's a playroom next to the kitchen for your Pokemon, and you can go ahead and use whatever you need. My apartment is upstairs. There's a bathroom, bed, anything you need, dear." She gave the girl a warm smile before she made her way back into the kitchen, not bothering to see if the girl was following. She trusted the girl. She made her way back to the kitchen and went right back to work. She began forming the dough into little pans before she popped them into the oven. She then worked on mixing up some pancake mix and slicing some bacon. She put the breakfast into the pans on the stove before she started to chop up some more fruit to go on the pancakes.
