Alice Hope lived a privileged lifestyle, although not quite as luxurious as the hated ‘one percent’. Aside from the standard work experience placements that her private school arranged, the shadowing of theatre staff and gruelling exam preparation, she was an eighteen year old who had experienced little hardship. The young girl aspired for more riches and notoriety, for both herself and her close friends. She wanted more.
The teenager was about to realise that that wish had been granted, just like so many others.
It was the drop in temperature that stirred her, Alice groaning groggily, cold fingers twitching. Her blonde hair, which fell all the way to her mid-back when loose, was a mess, and what felt like a breeze disturbed it. There was the smell of salt, sounds of waves and other natural noise – hooting owls and beating wings. Normally, one did not hear those things inside their bedroom.
She shot up in a cold sweat, pale cheeks flushing crimson, and didn’t see her bedroom at all. Instead of a mattress beneath her, the female saw blades of long grass, and beyond the cliffs was a golden beach. It wasn’t long before sunset would pass, and the sky was nearly a full indigo, with clouds obscuring the silver moon. Alice’s lip quivered in shock and lack of understanding – what kind of sense did this make?!
Her outfit, too, had changed. Instead of a pretty white pyjama set, a chunky knitwear dress adorned her petite figure, sleeves cutting off like a t-shirt, her neck protected by the also-white high roundneck collar. The legs she was so proud of sported dark blue leggings with floral stitching, and on her feet were a fashionable pair of brogue flats. Given the terrain, they were probably better than her favoured heels.
Very, very cautiously, the unknowing trainer stood, spotting at her feet a light grey messenger bag which complimented the ensemble. Was this stuff hers? How had she gotten here? Kidnapping? Had somebody redressed her?! Alice looked around, glued to the same place, for clues. Rustling in the tropical brush sent even more adrenaline pumping through her veins, and her heart thudded in her ears.
“Slow...”
It was a rather blank looking animal, jaw hanging slack, with pink fur and white feet.
“Poke.”
What.

A level 13 female Mime Jr. came passing through! Ability;; Sound Proof Double Slap || Meditate || Copycat || TickleThe little pink girl hopped along rather happily. It was just another day in the life of a Pokemon. There wasn't really much going on until the Mime Jr. heard a large amount of commotion going on. She hopped her way over to the sight of a girl waking up. Sitting behind some leaves she watched the confusion unfold. Oh the poor soul! She needed someone to comfort and explain things to her. Nodding slowly the little mime stepped out of the brush and smiled. Oh trainers were so silly! "Hi! What's up, you look a little confused," she said rather cheerily, but to the ears that heard her words, it sounded nothing like that. More so it sounded something along the lines of, "Mime! Mimemime, mime jr mime mimemiiii." Regardless, the little Pokemon only wanted to help and hoped the trainer wold understand.

There was a short space of time in which Alice and the Slowpoke stared at each other, the girl utterly confused by what she was seeing. Slowpoke was delighted, although to say he struggled to express this was an understatement. The silence was broken as yet another creature, pink and blue, stepped out of the wild and began babbling.
Alice stumbled back, terrified, and again just stared. Slowpoke looked between them, and noticed his 'childhood' friend actually appeared to be on the verge of tears. He had to kick his brain in and try to fix this. "She's... ... Losttttt..." The fellow psychic droned out, sitting down on his hind legs, tail thumping on the grass. There was far more to it than that, but it was going to take an eternity to get through it all with vocal communications alone.
"Where the hell am I?" Finally, the human brought herself to speak, and her tone indicated distress. Her lips were quivering, and she sniffed. This felt too real, most unlike a dream. And yet... That had to be an impossibility. "What's going on... How did I even get here?" She sobbed, eyeing the two worriedly, tears rolling down her face.
"... Forgotten... Things." Slowpoke managed.

A level 13 female Mime Jr. came passing through! The mime sat patiently waiting for the girl to answer her question. Instead the answer came rather slowly from the nearby Pokemon. A Slowpoke said that she was lost. "Oh how terrible! Perhaps I could help?" Mime Jr. said focusing her attention of the other Pokemon now instead of the trainer. True concern was slipping into her voice as she edged closer to the strange trainer. Finally the girl spoke, making the small pink Pokemon snap her head in surprise. Clearly by the words and tone, the trainer was in fact lost. Tears began to roll down the stranger's face. "Oh no! Please don't cry!!!" she called out in distress. She held her arms open for the trainer to pick her up and hug her.
The Slowpoke spoke again, saying she had forgotten things. That was really terrible... To be lost and have some memory loss?! The Mime Jr. decided then that she needed to help the trainer as much as possible! Lead the poor soul to wherever she needed to go. The mime knew the area pretty well and guiding the trainer shouldn't have been a problem at all. The Pokemon smiled at the trainer, hoping that she could brighten the girl's day.

Slowpoke's mouth broadened ever so slightly, smiling at the baby despite his concern for his long-lost friend. "Thanks~" He droned out cheerfully, nodding. Alice's sobs were quiet, and she was trying to control them, very shakily and slowly going down onto her knees to look at the mime Pokemon before her.
"You're a Mime Jr..." She mumbled, and then glanced over to the other. Slowpokes were her favourite. She felt like she identified with them: cute, my-paced and with strength and talent that took all by surprise. It was an immodest outlook, but the truth. "And a Slowpoke. This is so weird..."
Cautiously, Alice extended a hand so that it was brushing the smaller psychic's. If she just picked it up, it might attack or panic, after all. And even if this was a dream or delusion, it didn't feel like it, so she did not want to take a risk.

A level 13 female Mime Jr. came passing through! The Slowpoke thanked the Mime Jr and it couldn't help but to bring a smile to her small little face. She loved these people already and wanted to stay with them forever! The trainer identified her species and then slowly went to the other Pokemon's, stating it was weird. "What's so weird about this?" She glanced frantically between the trainer and her Pokemon. Was the mime doing something wrong by being there? Was it weird? She really didn't know much about humans at all...
The trainer let her fingers touch the outstretched arms of the Pokemon. The Mime Jr smiled and took that as an invitation before hopping into the trainers lap and looking up at her. "Where is it you want to go, I can lead you there!" The mime had directed her attention to the other Pokemon in hope that it knew where they were going. She only wanted to help out after all...

((I didn't find it too short at all. Sometimes shorter is better. ^^))
Slowpoke made a dumb, contemplative noise. He understood what she must have found strange - she was suddenly in this place, a random island, after being whisked to who knew where. He didn't know what caused it, what she had endured, nor the extent of the damage. It seemed he was very much unrecognised, too, although he had sussed this minutes ago.
"I-- Oh." Alice leaned backwards in surprise, Butterfree fluttering about her stomach. Once she had gotten over it, the girl laughed, smiling as she lightly patted the bobble on Mime Jr's head, rubbing her back gently. "You're super cute. I've never met any Pokemon in real life before." The girl confessed, sounding breathless, "I didn't even know they were real... This is kind of cool, actually..."
Slowpoke frowned. He got up and moved closer, stopping only when his trainer reached out and scratched him behind the ear like old times. "Pokemon can understand human speak, can't they? Even though I can't understand yours." She added, smiling as the male sat back on his hind legs again. "I don't really know where I am. I'm quite lost, actually... Will you both help me?"
The dual-type nodded his head, his drone more optimistic sounding this time, though he didn't really feel it. "I guess I need to find a way home, or something. I don't know." Alice paused thoughtfully, "To start... Maybe some food and drinking water, not from the ocean. Then I can think up my next move."

A level 13 female Mime Jr. came passing through! The trainer spoke about Pokemon as she rubbed the Mime Jr's back. The little pink Pokemon couldn't have asked for anything better! There was something just so nice about being with the trainer that made her smile. Finally the human brought up the point of being helped and how they could understand her but not the other way around. It was a terrible curse that most Pokemon couldn't interact properly with people. Some were gifted though, psychics mostly. After a while and a strong enough bond they were able to gain communication with a trainer. The little mime hoped one day she could have that sort of connection, but for the moment the focus needed to be on getting the trainer back home. The Pokemon nodded in agreement with the Slowpoke when the girl asked if they would help. Of course she would help! Why would she ever not want to help???
The trainer then stated that some food and water would be nice. The Mime Jr jumped up and down in excitement. "I know the place! Let's go this way." The Pokemon ran along ahead, stopping to look back and make sure the others were following before continuing to run on. There was this nice little grouping of trees right beside a small little stream that clumped up and created a nice pocket of still water. It was the perfect place for water and there was fruit in the trees to boot. The mime was so proud of herself. The trainer would be so proud of her too...

Alice beamed as the little Pokemon jumped up and down on her lap, babbling along in its sweet little language. She wiped her eyes, standing back up, and picked up the bag that she had found beside her. "We should follow it. It knows where food and water is, I think!" She told the Slowpoke, who back-channeled to show he understood before turning round and joining her.
For the trainer, who was the type to go at whatever pace she felt like, Slowpoke outdid her by quite a bit. The Mime Jr would've been lost to them if it hadn't stopped and periodically checked their position. Slowpoke's run was more of a chaotic amble, and Alice decided to walk at a speed that meant she didn't lose either of them.
After a little longer than anticipated, the trio soon arrived in the lush little spot, where nanab berries, apples, coconuts and an overwhelming amount of grapefruit could be found, their growth helped by the nearby stream, as well as the rain when it was the right season. "Thank you so much, Mime Jr. I probably would have got really lost without you." She plucked some of the pink and yellow fruits from a bush. "Would either of you like some?"

A level 13 female Mime Jr. came passing through! The Mime ran straight to the water, cupping her hands together and taking large cupfuls while she watched the trainer in awe. She wanted a trainer so badly... She sipped quietly at her water until the girl asked if they wanted any fruit. Mime Jr jumped up quickly and ran to the fruit. She was hungry! And well, to be honest some fruit from the trainer would have been nice too. She smiled and bounced up and down. This was such a fun day! The Pokemon was so happy that she had randomly stumbled upon the trainer and Slowpoke. It was making things so much better. "So what so we do now?" she asked out of curiosity. She wanted to know where else the girl needed to go and hopefully she would impress her enough that the Trainer would want to keep her around...

Alice handed a nanab berry to Mime Jr and to Slowpoke, tentatively taking a bite for herself. It was hard to get her teeth in, and the mixture of sweet and bitterness had her confused. "I'm not sure if I like this or not. It tastes weird." She mumbled, taking another chomp to check. Mime Jr spoke again, and she absently petted her.
"I can't get any sleep in the outdoors like this. It's too cold... After we're done, we should go and find somewhere with people. Or at least an unused house or building. Even if there might be rats and other creepy things about..." She suggested. Slowpoke nodded in agreement. He knew she didn't like a lot of bugs and was hesitant around Rattata, but he could protect her, and their new friend, too.
