hazel mae moore !! x x x x x The duo had a day off, not something that happened often... Or ever really. It was a supposed reward from the Ranger station for putting in so many hours over the last three months. Hell, they'd even switched her PDA off for her before tossing her out the door. Now what was Hazel supposed to do? It wasn't often that she had free time like this and even her Arcanine looked just about as dumbfounded as she did.
"Well then Archie, where do you wanna go?" Hazel asked, hoping her pokemon had a better idea than standing around outside the Ranger HQ looking lost. The large pokemon shrugged his shoulders as he lowered his body, an obvious indication he wanted Hazel on her back.
Throwing all caution to the wind Hazel leaped onto Archie's back, fitting securely behind the Arcanine's powerful front legs. Burying her fingers into the thick cream color of his mane, it was such a familiar and wonderful sensation that Hazel couldn't help but laugh with joy as he took off with one powerful leap.
It took less than an hour to arrive at Numeva Town, or rather, the ocean edge near the town. Playfully dumping Hazel from his back, Archie yelped in joy and padding on the sand. His whole body shook as he wagged his tail, pleading with Hazel to play. Wiping sand from her outfit Hazel couldn't stay mad at her giant puppy. "Alright Arch, go find me a stick or something." She said, lapping her hands.
And off went Archie, bounding down the beach looking for driftwood. Hazel couldn't help but sigh happily at how nice the day was. Besides the cold winter air and the ocean spray, the sun that peaked through the clouds left an almost warm and serene feeling.
Archie returned, spraying sand all over Hazel as he stopped his gallop, dropping a large branch in front of Hazel, almost half the size of her. "Now how exactly do you expect me to throw this?" Hazel said, her voice bubbly with laughter.
OOC: Archie is level 36, for what it matters. Looking to train as well as possibly add to the team.

As the trainer laughed and played with her Pokemon, such noise caught the attention of a nearby water Pokemon who had been floating around and relaxing. Curious, the creature began swimming towards the beach, looking first like some sort of black dot in the ocean, before getting close enough to have to pull it's head out of the water, obviously wandering what exactly was going on. After a moment, the creature pulled itself onto dry land, several feet from the girl and the Pokemon, and shaking it's body free from water.

"Dewott?" the Pokemon asked, curiously walking up to the duo. It was obvious he was trying to stand back a little as well, in case the girl decided to attack her Pokemon on him without him being able to react. Not that he had to worry, though; he was a water type, and Arcanines were known for being fire types, so he already had a type advantage.

hazel mae moore !! x x x x x After a few rather pathetic attempts from Hazel at tossing the massive log, she finally gave up and sat down rather haughtily in the sand. "Big guy, you an' me both know I am not going to be able to pick up that thing. Either find me a stick or go throw it yourself." Hazel said, a hint of laughter floating through her voice.
Pleased at the idea of tossing the "stick" for himself, Archie did just that. Picking up the large log in his massive maw the fire type swung his head and launched the old piece of wood into the air. It sailed for what seemed like almost a mile upwards before landing quite some distance away. Just as Archie began to leap off Hazel called out, "Don't go too far off! If I can't see you, you'll be in some trouble when I find you!"
The memories of yelling just that when he was a wee put filled her mind, putting a dreamy smile on her face. Even though it had been over a year since the incident with the fire stone, Hazel was still just getting used to the massive mutt her pokemon had become. Nothing but the size had changed, he was still a cuddle buddy and pup at heart.
As her mind shifted around old memories, she would have nearly missed the water pokemon had it not shook itself dry right near her. Shocked, she gave out a little yelp and threw her hands up defensively. "Oh! How silly of me." The young woman said, giggling at herself. "Hello there Dewott, you watching the crazy fire pokemon over there too?" Hazel asked, turning her head in the direction of the far off red blob. "He's a giant baby, if you'd believe it. Not a single mean bone in his body. Granted, you wouldn't know it with his size... But, don't judge a book by it's cover right?" Hazel said, completely at home with chatting up the pokemon.

The Dewott seemed rather surprised when the girl spoke to him rather nicely; some people that he ran into usually asked or challenged him to a battle, of which he usually escaped from quickly due to not being ready at the time, or being rather startled by them in the first place. People usually brought grass or electric type Pokemon with them to the beach as well, so he was commonly outmatched due to the type of the oppoenet. This girl had brought a fire type, however, making it an advantage for him.
When the girl spoke about her Pokemon, he couldn't help but glance at it for a moment - it was getting something for it's trainer, he knew - before looking back at the girl and nodding with a smile. It wasn't good to judge others before meeting them, which was why he still felt slightly weary of the Arcanine and the girl; they seemed nice, but he wasn't too sure about them still. They seemed nice, though, so he would wait.
