James isn't the kind of person you'd find actively socializing with other people. Rather, he's either cooped up in a lab studying something, or out in the wild researching Pokemon with his own team. He doesn't really like try to get to know people, as he likes to keep to himself and thinks that he will do better with Pokemon than people. Whenever he's placed in a situation where he has to have human interaction, he'll usually say whatever needs to be said as quick as possible and then get out, or he'll outsmart someone to where they won't really want to be near him. His Pokemon - namely, his starter Pokemon - however, like to make sure that he doesn't have this problem. If he happens to actually make a new 'friend', he's really good with helping people with their Pokemon, such as pointing out their strengths, weaknesses, as well as helping them with battle strategies of the sorts, in exchange for help with his Pokemon research.
Feel free to post any ideas as to how your character and James would get along.

I think Hazel and James could have a pretty nice feel for each other, despite the age difference. Perhaps Hazel could go "fetch" pokemon for him to study, or allow him access to her pokemon and what not. Being a Ranger means helping everyone, right? With her overly eager willingness to please and his general awkwardness around social events could lead to some fun threads. I would love for Hazel to have someone grounded she could chat with about why her pokemon do this and what she observes while in the field, you know?

It might take a while, however I could see them becoming aquaitances and the likes. And, maybe he could end up having her run errands for him, like finding a certain Pokemon, or having her look over certain Pokemon while she's out and having her describe to him how she saw certain Pokemon acted in different environments? I could see him also asking how certain Pokemon act in certain situations, like if she ever has to help pokemon get out of a forest fire or flood or the likes, since she is a ranger, as well as having her look at how Pokemon and humans interact with one another in situations like fires and floods, etc, without being prompted to do so. That, and I'm sure that since she's a ranger, he'd be willing to help her by showing or telling her what type of Pokemon work well in certain situations and with certain variables, so she could do her job better. At least, once he gets to know her better.

Sounds like a plan! Would you like me to start up a thread, or would you prefer to? If you want me too, just let me know what region/what place to put the thread into~
