Goro looked around. Ryker was out beside him as he wandered along. He decided that he needed a week to walk around and use up all four of his Pokeballs. He severely needed some Pokemon. Seda was resting peacefully in her little house. He wasn't going to use her to battle yet, he would wait until the second half of his trip before he even began to consider using her. For some reason he just didn't like using the female Wurmple. It wasn't like she was a bad fighter, no she was rather obedient. It was just... Well he had caught her and was afraid that if he put her in battle again then she would run away from him and be lost forever. The breeder sighed. He was here to look for a Pokemon, that was it. He had been wandering around for days but hadn't found anything that really stuck out to him.
In fact, he had spent almost half of his week break just looking for a Pokemon. Somehow he had ended up in Pastoria and was wading through the waters, trying to find something good. Maybe if he found a swimming Pokemon he would be able to go farther than he had originally planned and maybe even go to areas he thought weren't possible. He nodded slightly to himself and slightly to Ryker. It was time to go find a water Pokemon and that was that. He wouldn't stop until he caught one, that was for sure. Together the pair lifted their legs and trudged through the marshes, looking for anything that could swim. It was time to get serious about catching a Pokemon.

As the boy waded through the water, he failed to notice the rock that he walked past that was sunken into the sand. Well, it wasn't necessarily a rock; after he walked past, it began to shift and shake, until a little head popped up, making sand disperse around the water. The look in it's eyes seemed tired as it watched the boy quietly, before finally deciding to pull itself free of the sand and begin swimming towards him. It took the creature a moment, however it finally popped it's head out with a rather happy call.
A WILD SQUIRTLE APPEARED!Male | Lvl 8 | Torrent Tackle | Tail Whip | Bubble
Squirtle!" the little Pokemon said happily as it stuck it's head out of the water. It seemed to look over the boy for a moment, before happily swimming around him, making splashes in the water as he did so.

It wasn't long before the man heard the tiny little cry of a Squirtle. He spun around quickly, searching for the water Pokemon. Ryker found him first. The blue creature was swimming in circles, making little splashes. He looked at the thing for a moment before deciding what to do. Glancing down at Ryker who was ready to attack he smiled. Always willing to please. Goro gave a small nod before taking a few steps back to let the battle happen. He took a deep breath. There were many options that he could take. In his point of view he didn't want his Wurmple to fight at all. Still, he had to do something to get business booming.
Twisting his lips in displeasure he looked at his Pokemon. "Ryker use poison sting." He watched carefully as the purple darts were released from the Pokemon's skin. The headed straight towards the Squirtle who was still carelessly swimming, barely aware of a battle going on at all. The darts hit the shell of the enemy, pulling his attention to the attacker. Goro stared at the blue turtle. From the looks of it, it didn't look like the poison took hold or even did much damage. There was a quick counterattack coming from the water. The Squirtle used Bubble. "Dodge Ryker," the breeder practically screamed. He feared his little Pokemon getting hurt. The pink Pokemon wasn't fast enough because as soon as he started to move, the bubbles hit.
Goro pulled his face away for a moment to avoid watching his little baby get hurt. He looked back and thought for a moment. He could try once again to poison the turtle and make the battle go faster or he could go full in with straight up attacks. The risk was, if the worm didn't keep his distance then the enemy was sure to attack much quicker and much more powerfully. The man took a deep breath, "Ryker use String shot and close in with a tackle." Hopefully the string shot would mean that the Squirtle wouldn't be able to attack as quickly and it would give Ryker enough time to pull out and gain some distance.
The Wurmple lifted his head and shot out a silky white thread, hitting the Squirtle dead on. Goro smiled and crossed his fingers hoping that the wild Pokemon didn't dodge the attack. His hoping was unsuccessful as the turtle dove beneath the water, evading any chance of attacking. "Ryker, go to the left and get ready to use Poison Sting again." It was a long shot but hopefully moving would throw off the aim of the Squirtle and give the tame Pokemon a chance to get in another attack. A head popped out of the water and shot bubbles at the pink creature. Thankfully before it could even get close to the Wurmple it exploded after hitting the recently fired Poison Sting. Was that going to be the battle? Popping out of the water to have the two attacks collide.
The Squirtle was smart this time and climbed out of the water and through the smoke, going in to tackle Ryker. "Ryker, dodge it and counter with Poison Sting again." When the Pokemon started to move it was already too late. Through the smoke came the enemy, tackling the Wurmple and letting them slide across the ground. Thankfully it took the enemy a second to get up, giving the worm a chance at another poisoning. This time it seemed to grab the Squirtle and work. Goro couldn't help but smile as the enemy looked a little sick to it's stomach. This was their chance, the man knew a few more attacks and his Pokemon would be done with. "Ryker use Tackle again." It didn't take but a few seconds for the Wurmple to stand again and hit the turtle with a tackle.
It stumbled backward, trying to shoot another bubble attack but this time the Wurmple was ready and dove out of the way, finding a new burst of strength in poisoning the enemy. "Use tackle again." Ryker blindly obeyed, heading in and hitting the opponent to the ground. Goro pulled out one of his spare Pokeballs. Each attack weakened the water Pokemon more and more. Soon it would be time to throw the ball and make the catch. After gaining it's balance the Squirtle made a quick counter, tackling the worm once again. The breeder flinched but tried to remain strong. "Use one last Tackle Ryker!" He shouted, watching closely, ready to toss the ball. Once the attack landed successfully the man tossed the ball. He watched it land and waited for the click, or the escape of his opponent.
