Before Flight
I stretched my arms as I woke up in my bedroom. My hair was frizzy in which i had to fix. Doing so, I threw on a too big gray sweatshirt with a Chimchar's face on it. I combed my long dark fuchsia hair down to the curled end that was below my waist. I put on a pair of dark blue denim jean short shorts with ivory fishnet leggings underneath. All that was visible was the leggings underneath my huge sweatshirt. I put on a flame patterned red scarf and high heel red velvet boots. I applied the right amount of makeup and shut my windows. I was out to Oak's lab. My flight to Sinnoh was in two hours and I still needed a level five starter pokemon that would be my partner. I had Skull and Puppet, the Duskull and Shuppet, but they were babies who were too young to battle and they really didn't enjoy training. I walked out of my house not bothering to lock the door. I walked down a couple blocks to the lab. I turned the door knob which was seemingly unlocked. I walked in. Most of the lab assistants would know me because I grew up around here.
"Hello? I'm here for my official Kanto starter before I go." I walked up to a desk where one of the assistant boys was looking at a computer with various pictures and words. I tapped him on the shoulder.

Professor Oak was up early that morning. Who knew what it was that he was doing but he knew exactly what he was doing. It appeared to anyone who would walk into his office that he was just drawing circles on a sheet of paper. That, however was not the case, in fact, he was drawing bubbles. That was a very large difference from circles. Calling them the same thing was practically a joke! Anyone who was stupid enough to do that shouldn't be working in a lab at all. It was on that morning that the man drawing bubbles was having a hard time thinking. His thoughts escaped him every single second. For some reason, drawing the bubbles helped him in a way he would never quite understand.
Glancing at the Rattata that was curled up in a ball on the corner of his desk, the Professor sighed. He set down his pencil and rubbed his eyes before picking up the paper of bubbles. Oh a fine and dandy piece of work. There was nothing better than a paper full of what someone could mistake as circles. The door to his office flung open as a young assistant came in, asking the Professor to speak with a girl who wanted a Kanto starter. With paper in hand, the man stood and went into the lab. He headed straight for the girl, picking up a bag of Pokeballs and the starter kit that he always gave out. He took in a deep breath and smiled as he reached the girl. "So you want a starter? Which one would you like?" He loved giving out Pokemon to those new trainers. There was nothing better than watching a child receive his or her life long friend.

Before Flight
I had sat myself on a nearby stool. I straighten and walked over when the Professor appeared. He held a thick stack of papers in one hand and a few starter items in the other. I placed a hand on the back of my head. A little embarrassed to ask for the pokemon I wanted. I looked up at him.
"I wanted a Pikachu if that would be fine. If I can't have one to start with...Charmander will be fine." I looked at the ground. My eyes were fixed at the tips of my red shoes. I looked back and swayed a little. Pikachu were cute and strong. Plus, I had always dreamed of having the ultimate team of a Raichu and unstopable ghost pokemon. Like Ghastly or even Gengar.

The girl said that she wanted a Pikachu but if that wasn't possible she wanted a Charmander. Professor Oak twisted his face for a moment. Did he even have a Pikachu left? He shuffled things through his arms and eventually got one hand free to dig through the bag. He reached in and began to flip the balls around, searching for the one that held a Pickahu. "So why do you want a Pikachu?" the Professor asked while he dug through the bag. He loved to hear why people wanted the Pokemon they did. It was never boring listening to a new trainer talk about their growing passion. The Professor pulled out a Charmander's Pokeball without the luck of finding the Pikachu.
To make it easier on his hands, he set down his papers and the starter kit he was going to be giving to the girl soon. He continued to dig through, listening to the girl as he flipped around every container not once but twice. He still didn't see the ball engraved with a tiny little marker to symbolize the electric type. He couldn't find one at all. "One moment please," Professor Oak said before setting the bag down on a desk and heading back into his office. The Rattata poked his head up when the man walked in but made no sign to move. The Professor often kept a few balls in his office just so he could have company and let the Pokemon get exercise even though the small purple one just wanted to sleep. He almost jumped for joy when, in the few balls he had sitting on his desk, one contained a Pikachu. He picked it up and walked out to the girl. "Are you ready for your Pikachu?"

Hmm, it's complicated.
I looked at the professor as he surfed throughout his pokeballs. I smiled with enthusiasm as he asked me why I would like a Pikachu.
"It's something about them, I always read about them watch the channels that have them on it. Pikachu is something to a person like me that's just maybe Shocking or Electrifying. I remember seeing one in a battle. It was a Johto champions fight. It's power and speed are mind-blowing for it's size. It's something that is just to special to understand from a TV show or a book. I want to witness it and help develop it in my own skin." I took and breath and blinked slowly as the professor left to grab a pokeball in his office. I smiled as he came out and made sure I was ready. I gave him a thumbs-up.
"I'm ready to meet my partner for life before I go. This pokemon will always remind me of my home!"

The Professor smiled as the girl said she was ready for her Pokemon. How perfect! He tossed her the ball that held the tiny Pikachu inside. "You can name it whatever you please. Take good care of it and train it well. I wish you the best of luck on your journey," he said smiling. He turned to where he had set the starter kit down earlier and picked it up. glancing quickly inside he saw the everything was where it should be. He gave a small nod to the bag as if it were alive before thrusting it out to the girl. "There you go, everything you will need to start your journey. have a nice day," Professor Oak said before picking back up the other things he had set down. Another satisfied trainer, going off into the world to start their journey.
