Amber and Chance walked in the fields just outside of Cherrygrove Town. Well technically Amber wheeled and Chance walked. For Amber was unable to walk and was stuck to a wheel chair for the rest of her life. They where on the hunt for a new pokemon for their team. Now that Amber had moved to Johto she thought it might be fun to capture a few pokemon here.
Chance scanned the area he stood to the side of the wheel chair for he knew how much Amber wanted to be independent. So he did his best not to take away the feeling of being independent.
"Do you see anything Lucario?"

A wild Hoppip appeared! A gentle breeze stirred the few leaves left in the trees. The crisp winter air bit at pokemon's noses, many of which were hiding in their dens and nests, trying to stay warm. But one pokemon was just floating through the air, not really sure of what was going on.
"Eee!" She squealed, not even sure if she should be enjoying what was going on. She couldn't control the wind, and she would just keep on flying forever if either the wind didn't stop or someone didn't grab her. "Help! I think..." How had she even gotten here? She remembered sitting in a tree, where she had been left off that day by the wind, obviously, and then she was off again. But she had flown from Goldenrod City, that was how strong the winds were that morning.

Amber was starting to think they would never find anything when she heard something cry out. She looked around and saw a Hoppip flying in the strong winds. It looked scared. Chance grab the hoppip quick before the wind blows it away.
Lucario growled and jumped from tree branch to tree branch till he got to the top of a tree than used all his strength to jump up and grab the small pokemon. Spinning he aimed for a different tree and hopped from branch to branch again until he reached the ground. "Your safe now be lucky me and my trainer saw you." Walking over to Amber in her wheel chair he set the pokemon in Amber's lap.
Amber watched Chance and smiled when he got the pokemon. "Well done Chance are you ok little one. You aren't hurt are you?"

A wild Hoppip appeared! Just as she was planning on falling asleep while the wind carried her, a pair of paws grabbed her suddenly and quickly. "What- Hey!" She squeaked, not knowing what the Lucario was doing. Had he... Just helped her? He scrambled down the trees, Hoppip glancing around, surprised. If she looked at him without knowing what he had just done, she would think that he had wanted to eat her.
She was placed on a girl's lap, and she looked at her silently for a few seconds.
"Yeah... I think I'm fine? Am I not supposed to be?" Who was this person? Did she know her? "Where... am I?"

Amber smiled at the little grass and flying type pokemon. Once Chance relaid what the little pokemon said she smiled. "Well I'm glad your ok you looked a little scared up there. And you just outside of Cherrygrove Town. Where where you when the strong winds caught you?"
It was always good to have a pokemon who could speak both human and pokemon so she knew what the pokemon said. "As long as your ok that is all that matters. If you need help getting back to you flock I'm sure I could have Viper my Flygon fly us back in a heart beat." She could fly on the flygon with some help from her Gothorita using psychic to get her on her pokemon. She had a saddle with a belt the held her in so she didn't fall off since she couldn't grip with her legs.
Lucario grunted and jumped into a tree and sat down he grabbed a small twig with a leaf in it and stuck it between his teeth.

A wild Hoppip appeared! What was going on? What was this person doing?
But Cherrygrove? Where was that again? "Uh... I was in Goldenrod." She wiggled slightly in the girl's grasp. She was offering to help her back home to her "flock". She didn't have one of those, she didn't think. She lived on her own, really.
"Um... I-I don't really have a home." She shrugged, looking at the Lucario instead of the girl. "I just go... wherever." Did she even want to go back there? Not really.
"And who are you?"

Amber could tell the small pokemon wasn't comfortable being in her grasp. So she set the small Hoppip on the ground so it could go if it wished to. Again Chance translated for her. She nodded. "Wow Goldenrod City that's pretty far from here. The wind has taken you very far from your home. And I thought all Hoppip's traveled in flocks. I've seen them in flocks up to twenty or more in the past." This Hoppip was most definitely different. The part about her not having a home and just drifting from place to place made her feel sad. It must be lonely always being alone always on the move. She felt sad for the pokemon. Pity almost. "I am Amber a pokemon breeder. And that is my best friend Chance. We have been together for a long long time and have grown stronger together.

A wild Hoppip appeared! Hoppip's bottom lip trembled as the breeder mentioned the word "home". "I don't have a home!" She suddenly sobbed, in hysterics. "I don't have a family! I'm all alone!"
So her name was Amber, and her Lucario was Chance. They were lucky to have each other's company. "A-At least you have each other..." Hoppip sniffled miserably.

Amber felt terrible for the little thing when she said she had no family and started crying. She picked her back up and patted her back softly. "It's ok don't cry. You can join our family if you want. We could always use a new family member. And you'll never be alone for I have lots of pokemon. And if you want you'll never be kept inside your poke'ball and you can travel with me where ever I go. You'll never be alone again." She smiled softly at the little pokemon and patted her head trying to sooth her.
Chance watched Amber and smiled she had a soft heart and she would take in any type of pokemon not caring how strong or how week they where.

A wild Hoppip appeared! Hoppip, though she didn't like it, had grown used to her solitary lifestyle. So when Amber suggested she join their family, Hoppip took a few seconds to comprehend what she was saying. Her wails subsided to shallow whines. The idea sounded quite nice, but one word frightened her.
"P-P-Pokeball?" Hoppip wailed again. "I don't wanna go in one of those!" She began to cry again, shaking with both desperation and fear. She wanted to go with them, but she would put up a fight if Amber tried to put her into one of those death traps.

Amber picked the pokemon back up when she began crying again. She hugged her and patted her back. When Chance told her why she was upset she smiled. "Well how about this I'll capture you in a poke'ball but as soon as your caught I'll let you out and you'll never have to go in it again. It's just a safety measure so no one capture you. You'll be in it for less than a minute. And I'll take you every where with me you can sit on my lap while we travel or if you want in my back pack on the arms of my wheel chair." Hopefully the little pokemon would be ok with that.
Chance jumped down and walked behind the wheel chair he grabbed an empty poke'ball and handed it to Amber. "You will have much fun traveling with us. There are more pokemon back at the ranch for you to play with."

A wild Hoppip appeared! Should she do it? Hoppip sighed, still crying. The possibilities were endless if she went with them. Amber said that they had plenty of Pokemon for her to play with, but did she really want to change from her current lifestyle? She was ok already, going where the wind took her, even if it was a bit lonely.
"I-I don't wanna!" She wailed once more, shaking. But she took a deep breath, and realized that if Amber wantedto try and catch her, she could anyway, no matter what she said. The girl would have the upper hand, and there was no way around it.
She grunted, trying to blink away some of the tears. "Y-You'll do it anyway, so just get on with it."

Amber felt terrible about doing this but if she didn't someone else could capture her even though she was with her and they make her stay in the poke'ball all the time. "If I don't capture you and you come with me than someone else can capture you and force you to stay in your ball all the time. Would you rather have a quick capture and than release from the ball or take the chance to be caught by another and be forced to stay in a poke'ball at all times unless their training or battling you? I'm doing this for your best interest I'm sorry." She hugged the little pokemon than gently tapped her with the poke'ball and pressing the button on it.
