Today was the day. She had traveled so long to do this right. Sure, she wasn't a Trainer, but her brother had made the point clear that no-one that had anything to do with Pokemon was complete until they visited the lab and got their very own Pokemon. It had taken her days, but she was finally arriving. She peeked out of the window of the taxi, smiling slightly as she saw the Lab looming ahead. She shook slightly, the nerves getting to her. She tried to snap herself out if it, though, brushing off her dress slightly, making sure everything was in order. "Here we are, Miss. I'll wait here until you're ready to leave." The girl gave a nod as she opened the car door. "Thank you so much. Hopefully, this will not take long." With a deep breath, the girl stepped out and closed the door behind her.
Seconds seemed like weeks as she approached the Lab door, pushing it open. She really did not know what to do, so she just stepped inside, closing the door behind her silently. "Um...Hello? M...My name is Artemis. I'm here for a Pokemon?" She bit her lip slightly as she clutched the hem of her dress. She knew she was probably doing something wrong, or making herself look like a fool. She simply took a deep breath as she waited. She had to make her brother proud.

Professor Rowan stood with his back to the lab. He was staring rather intently at a chart that he had made earlier that morning. It listed different things between Pokemon that were similar. For some reason, evolutions still baffled the man. The Pokemon, though extremely similar were so very far apart in their evolutions. It was like there wasn't a single pattern to evolutions. Like why could you stop them? How could you stop them? What caused them to evolve? Why didn't they all evolve? These were the questions running through his mind as he heard the door open. He turned and glanced at the girl walking into the lab. She was probably there to get her starter considering the fact that she was far too young to be one of the children that came in to play with the Pokemon on a regular basis.
The Professor turned around and looked at the girl as she spoke. Her name was Artemis. That was nice, no one hardly ever told him their name anymore. So this young girl was looking for a starter, just as he suspected. "Well hello Artemis," he said as he walked closer to the table that held his Poke-balls and starter kits. "Which starter would you like?" He always tried to make getting a Pokemon as quick and painless as possible. He knew many young trainers wanted to get started right away and not waste time at the lab. He placed his hands behind his back, smiled and waited for the girl to answer him.

Artemis could not help but smile at this man as he approached her. She gave him a slight bow before she peeked behind him, making out some of the chart that he had been so diligently staring at. Her mind started working and she could not help but blurting out. "Evolution still baffles me as well, Professor. And I've been Breeding Pokemon for years." She gave a bit of a laugh before she blushed, hoping she had not gone too far. Her mind had a way of going crazy to the point where she could not control it.
She took a deep breath, before she finally remembered the Professors question. "Oh! I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. But..I was hoping for...Well...Hm..." She bit the inside of her cheek as she thought. "I was...Possibly hoping for a...Shinx...But if you don't have any left, a Chimchar will be fine." She gave him a bright smile. She really needed to get her mind in check. It was probably the long ride. Of course, she planned to find a quicker mode of transportation when she headed back to Solaceon town. Maybe a plane if she had enough money after a night in a hotel..
Once again, her brain wandered off on her, and it took almost all of her willpower to focus and pay attention to the Professor.

The Professor glanced back at the chart when Artemis mentioned evolutions and laughed. "Yes evolutions are tricky things." He smiled and thought to himself for a moment before coming back to earth when the voice spoke again. She asked for a Shinx first, one his more favored Pokemon and said her back up would be a Chimchar. "Oh no need to worry, I'm sure there's a Shinx around here somewhere." He glanced at the table and saw the Pokeball siting close to the edge. He picked it up and handed it to the girl, smiling. "There you are Artemis, I wish you the best of luck on your journey. Feel free to name it anything you would like and make sure to take good care of it." Next he grabbed up the small pack of things that the new trainer would need. "Here's your starter pack, it has all of the essentials inside of it, good luck."

Aretmis could not help the smile that was plastered to her face when he said there was still an available Shinx. The happiness radiated from her when he walked away to get it, and she knew her brother would be proud. Helio's first Pokemon had been a Shinx as well, and Bolt was still his prized competitor. She could not wait to send him word. Sure, she aspired to be a famous Breeder, but she had always wanted to be just like her brother, and this encounter made her think that she was on the right track. Finally, her life could truly begin.
As the Pokeball was placed in her hand, Artemis's grin seemed to grow. "Thank you so very much, Professor." She held onto the Pokeball for dear life as the Professor handed her the bag with her essential items. She flung the bag over her shoulder and gave the Professor another bow. "Again, thank you so much. I'll make sure to come back sometime! Maybe I'll know a little more about evolution then." She giggled slightly as she moved to the Lab door. She opened it wide, looking at the Taxi driver, before she turned back to the Professor. "Good luck!" She gave him a happy wave before she rushed out of the lab and into the cab.
"To the nearest airport, please. Anywhere I can charter a plane to get home." She was too excited to sleep now, and she didn't want to waste any time in getting back home to start training her new Shinx.
