He really doesn't like people seeing his hair 'a mess', although he will, on the rare occasion, wear it spiked if he doesn't feel like slicking it down. His eyes are an emerald green that usually rest behind eye glasses that he more often than not needs in order to see, though he mostly uses them to read. His skin is lightly tanned, as, while he likes to go outside, he doesn't care much for going out unless he is given a reason to. He does not seem too different from other people other than his glasses, really. His attire is also rather usual, as he tries to stay out of the ordinary. His normal attire may be a lab coat with a pair of nice jeans and a pair of black shoes, although that is simply if he is working on something important or going somewhere important. You wouldn't see this everyday, of course. His favored attire whenever he is traveling or out is a pair of jeans, although dirtier than his work ones, with a pair of hiking boots or tennis shoe underneath. His shirts commonly compose of either collared t-shirts with buttons, shirts that button over white t-shirts, or simple long sleeved ones during the winter, of which are rarely seen due to some sort of jacket. He also has a place on his belt which holds his Pokeballs for him, and carries a satcle of his the sorts for his items and Pokeballs.[/style][STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 10px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: 10px;]PERSONALITY[/style][STYLE= margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px; border: 2px solid #191919; padding: 2px; font-family: verdana; height: 125px; overflow: auto; font-size: 10px; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff; opacity: 0.8]James isn't really an outgoing kind of person. Rather, he tends to keep to himself and his Pokemon rather than trying to tend to or speak to others. He has a feeling that other people wouldn't really understand him, and Pokemon would, thus he keeps to them more. Thus, he wouldn't willingly start a conversation with someone unless he felt the need to, and, if not, the conversation might be one sided unless he has something to put into the conversation, which, in itself, is rare. All of this usually makes him a fairly quiet person around other people, and more so reserved in crowds unless given a reason to be there. He also isn't a big fan of talking in front of big crowds, especially if he doesn't know what he is going to say. To say that James is knowledgeable is perhaps an understatement. He is never the one to flaunt such a thing, however he will not hesitate to correct - or in some rare cases, help - people due to their lack of knowledge or if they obviously do not know what they are talking about. Rarely is he snotty or rude about it; he can be quite the opposite, actually. He just sometimes has the feeling to due such a thing if someone is obviously wrong about something. It's more of an OCD, really, if could be named as such a thing. Being knowledgeable, James still does enjoy learning. He will commonly research on different Pokemon and terrains, and how Pokemon live, as well as places and other such things. One of his favorite hobbies is watching Pokemon, both wild and with their trainers, and their reactions to such enviorments. Although he doesn't talk much, he enjoys watching trainers battle, and their different battle styles, as well as how different Pokemon listen to different trainers and their commands, and how their personalities and how well they get along with their trainers effects this. If you haven't noticed, James if a rather anti-social guy. If he were able to, he would keep himself in a lab or outdoors away from people than with others. He often finds himself unable to talk properly with others, or to hold a decent conversation without stuttering or making some sort of mistake in it. He fears making himself look like a fool, and thus thinks that by not taking part in a conversation or the likes, he won't do such a thing to himself. Although his logic does him futile, it works well in his mind. He also makes sure to keep away from people if he is in a crowd, and chooses to keep to himself in those, too. Although he doesn't like people too well, James may sometimes find himself attracted to people in trouble - mostly due to his Pokemon leading them to him - or people that dislike - or rather prefer to - people and prefer to keep away from him as he does. Sure, he doesn't hate people. nor does he like them, however if someone has some of the same characteristics such as he, like being an outcast or oddball, then he may make good friends with them, if not some sort of aquaitances. There are occasions in which people do not fit these personality traits, and he makes friends with them, although he'd have to have a good reason to like them. On the rare occasion that someone earns his trust and friendship, James is a rather nice person. He can be quite collective and helpful, from Pokemon and their strengths and weaknesses, to battle strategies, and the likes, and will willingly give such information away to his friends if they need it.[/style][STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 10px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: 10px;]HISTORY[/style][STYLE= margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px; border: 2px solid #191919; padding: 2px; font-family: verdana; height: 125px; overflow: auto; font-size: 10px; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff; opacity: 0.8]Born and raised in Viridian City, James was a small town child whom seemed quite the opposite of what he is today. His parents - mother, a retired breeder, and his father still a worker in the Viridian City Gym - had met long before he was born, and were more like high school sweet hearts than anything. Both raised him in the quietness of the city, wanting the best for their son. Their Pokemon were perhaps the reason why he was so interested in Pokemon today. He spent most of his life learning in school, playing with Pokemon, and being a child. He did have a few friends growing up, however he seemed to enjoy his studies more. It was obvious when he was young that he was more fit for the academics than for Pokemon. While his peers were all jeering and ready for a chance at an adventure when they turned ten, he seemed to enjoy the art of science more; and in Pokemon most of all, none the less. His parents were happy to support him in what ever he wanted to go into, of course. Adventuring and battling seemed dangerous even then, and, although his parents trusted him with a Pokemon and with traveling, they didn't want to see their son get hurt. James didn't question why his parents didn't try to urge him to leave, either, and simply enjoyed being at home with them. Their happiness ended abruptly, however, when a tragedy struck the family. He had been staying with his mother's sister in Pallet Town during the winter of his eighth year for a few days while his parents went on a small vacation by themselves via car. James waited up nearly all night for his parents when they were due to come home, however he was in for a literally rude awakening the next morning: due to the blizzard that ravaged the lower part of the region, his parents his gotten lost, and ended up skidding off the side of the road and ramming head on into a hibernating Onix at around eleven o'clock that previous evening. His father had died instantly upon impact, and his mother followed a few hours later. James was rather quiet afterwards, even during the court hearing that followed. His aunt in Pallet Town was given custody of him, and he spent the rest of the winter and much of his years there. During the final of his third grade year and the year that followed, he seemed rather depressed and didn't focus well on his studies. His aunt, believing that he needed to get more out of his shell, decided to get some local help At age ten, he started working for a still rather young Professor Oak while still in school. He still seemed rather lifeless, simply helping with the Pokemon and around the lab. His mood did lighten up slightly. He seemed to enjoy the Pokemon's company, often playing with them when needed, and spending time with them after school and when his homework was done. Oak, believing that the boy needed a bit more of a push, gave him a present on his twelfth birthday, saying it was for helping him: an egg. James, although he tried to hide it, was rather ecstatic. Although he had grown up with Pokemon and had the ability to play with them and learn from them, he had never had one to call his own. For roughly four or so months, whenever he wasn't working in the lab or on schoolwork, James was taking care of the egg. His aunt thought it was rather cute of him, and nice as to how serious he was taking the egg. He often stayed up with it when he didn't have school, and watched it whenever he was home like some mother hen. He took it around with him to the lab, and trusted his aunt with it while he was at school [even though her Pokemon and his parent's were the ones who commonly watched it and warmed it]. Finally, the time came while, when James was dozing off one Saturday night in his bed, the egg next to him on his pillow, the egg began to glow and hatch. Most all were surprised what had came out: a Shiny Eevee. James hurried to the lab the next morning with the Eevee in his arms. Oak seemed pleased at the sight of a happy ten year old, and had told him that the strange Eevee was a gift for him, in return for helping him at the lab so well. When James questioned him about why it was different from other Eevees, he was told that no one really knew; that it was more like random genetics than anything. James slowly began to become more more like his old self, however seemed to enjoy Pokemon more than people. He began to study more, as well as focusing on training his Evee, who he named Eona, and venturing more outside his home with her. At age seventeen, James graduated from high school, and his aunt gave him a rather good present: five pokeballs, and some items to help him on a journey. Although late, James vowed to journey in order to learn more about Pokemon, especially shiny Pokemon, and began his adventure around Kanto, and thus other regions. James did catch a few Pokemon of his own, however commonly gave them away to other trainers, breeders, and whatnot if they didn't suit his liking or he didn't see himself fit to keep them. His Eevee had evolved halfway through their journey in Kanto; it happened one night while they setting up camp, and a wild Nidoran had attacked them for their food. Eona evolved in the midst of the battle into an Umbreon, and the oppoenet was easily chased away. During his journey, James worked under several professors, a couple rather well known, learning all he could about Pokemon, their locations, what they could do, and the likes. He wasn't up for training his Pokemon, however did so often, if only to make sure that they could easily defend him and whatnot. He focused more on Pokemon and his learning more than anything else, and thus his relationships today are few and far between. He started traveling and freelancing his learning at thirty, and hasn't stopped since.[/style][STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 10px; margin-top: 10px; margin-left: 10px;]LIKES & DISLIKES[/style][STYLE= margin: 0px 10px 0px 10px; border: 2px solid #191919; padding: 2px; font-family: verdana; height: 125px; overflow: auto; font-size: 10px; text-align: justify; background-color: #ffffff; opacity: 0.8]LIKES: research, knowledge, shiny pokemon, pokemon DISLIKES: conversation, crowded places, too much noise, too many distractions FEARS: loosing someone close to him, loosing his pokemon STRENGTHS: knowledge, ability to think before doing WEAKNESSES: communication, stress[/style][STYLE=color: #191919; font-size: 12px; margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px; text-align: center; font-family: courier new]application was passed by kcx[/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=valign,top][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=style, width: 40px;][STYLE=background-color: #f1e3b4; font-family: courier new; font-size: 30px; color: #404040; min-height: 150px; padding: 5px; text-align: center; moz-border-radius: 0px 10px 10px 0px; -o-border-radius: 0px 10px 10px 0px; border-radius: 0px 10px 10px 0px; -webkit-border-radius: 0px 10px 10px 0px;]j a y[/style] |
