So, this is where I would start my dreams. My tenth birthday is today and I was going to get the ultimate gift! A starter pokemon! I looked up at the early dawn sky. All the pokemon were adorable. I didn't know what to choose ubntil I remembered the sweet Bellsprout and Gloom in Ilex Forest. I smiled politely and cheered inside my head. Of course! I'd get a Chikorita. Those are feisty pokemon who are adorable in their own turn. They loved the sun as I did and they give off a beautiful aroma that calms the mind. I sniffed as if one was near me. I came back to earth when I realized that I needed to go find the younger, but world known scientist, Professor Elm. I adjusted the straps of my backpack and relaxed somewhat. I was very nervous about this, but my feet had a mind of their own and walked me straight into the large building.

I looked around until I spotted my target. I slowly trotted up.
"Hello Sir! I would please love for my first pokemon to be Chikorita!" I dipped my head with respect and stood there awkwardly as I didn't know what to do. I grabbed the end of my short black skirt in my hands and started wrinkling it up and un-wrinkling it. I didn't know what else I could do, but stand and wait for an answer.

It was the early morning and the sun was just beginning to stream through the curtains of Professor Elms curtains. He was just barely up, lifting a mug of coffee to his lips when he pushed back the curtains to see a young girl who was just barely ten walking up. Sighing he turned to head downstairs and greet the child. It was never too early to start the morning's work. He was about to start down the stairs when he realized he hadn't even begun to get ready for the morning line up. Glancing in the mirror he saw his hair wasn't too badly misshapen from the pillow that often destroyed it in the mornings. Running a few fingers through the loose locks he hurried down the stairs and got there just as the girl walked inside.

The girl was rather direct, saying she wanted a Chikorita please. Taking a long drink of coffee he let out a content sigh and nodded. "Of course if you want a Chikorita that shouldn't be too hard." Walking over to the table where the starters were placed he almost tripped over his own feet. Shaking his head for a second he set down the mug and searched the filled Poke-balls until he came across one that held a Chikorita. "Now here you are, your very own Chikorita," the Professor said, holding the Poke-ball out to the young child. Nodding he glanced around for the starter pack he gave to each new trainer. Spotting it he shuffled his feet over to where the pack was. The shuffling was to ensure he didn't trip again. Taking the pack in his hand he held it out to the girl. "Here's your starter pack. That should have everything you need inside it. I wish you the best of luck in your journey."

I grasped the pokeball in my hand and stared at it awe. It seemed like the skies light that was shining through the window was all on my glorious new pokeball. I about hugged Professor Elm, but remembered that he was a professor. I stood tal and said, "Chikorita...I choose you!" I tossed the pokeball in the air and it opened. An odd mixed red light came out and my beautiful new Chikorita was standing ther with a strong puffed out chest. This pokemon had to be a male because I didn't know any female pokemon who puffs their chest out.

The Chikorita looked at me with an inquisitive stare. My awe turned into shock when raced towards me. I let out a small shocked squeal as bowled me over and stood on my stomach looking at me. I looked back at Chikorita.
"Ha! I'm going to call you Stunner!" The leaf on stunners head twitched and it jump off of me. I patted him on the back.
"You're a tough little guy aren't ya?" I looked at Elm. I felt embarrassed from laying there playing with Stunner. I got up quickly and grabbed my pokeball.
"Thank you!" I dashed out of the building with chikorita by my side.
