Vera had noticed some of the things around her ranch had taken a bit of a beating and could use some replacing, as well as some other general things she felt she needed to get. Sure Violet town had its own pokemart, but she didn't want to risk clearing them out of anything like potions or antidotes. And she couldn't really get furniture there. She could have teleported there and be there and back in two seconds, but she rather enjoyed being out for a nice walk once in a while. The fresh air, the nice breeze, she almost felt like bringing her wings up to their normal size and stretching them. Though, she was on a route that eventually led to a rather populated city, so she didn't want to freak out anyone that may have been walking by. She'd feel bad if she did that. Then again, there were also a lot of pokemon usually down this route, and while she wasn't keen on it, there was always the chance of having to fight herself. She honestly didn't like the idea, but as she reached down to her side and pulled up a single pokeball, looking at it and her usual smile fading ever so slightly. The Gastly it contained was her last actual pokemon, one she had gotten recently on a trip that had attacked her at first, but decided on following her around after she realized it just wanted to play really.. albeit it's methods were less then playful.
Her other pokemon had actually been strays or injured that she nursed back to health, So when good people came along, of course she let them leave with new owners that they were getting along with.. and there was no way she could deny them when they brought children. But it did leave her feeling just a little lonely, she made good friends with or at least tried to with all the pokemon she met, or people for that matter. So watching them leave was just a bit hard on her, but she knew it was for the best. Though, now she felt a little bad that she was doubting her Gastly's ability to keep her from having to fight herself. But she tried to push the thought aside so she could smile, though it was hard. She wanted to believe Gastly could do it on his own, but at the same time, there was the the part of her that was a realist and knew that there was always a pokemon or trainer that was better then you and your pokemon.
She enlarged the pokeball and paused for a second to see what the wind was like. IT was a very light occasional breeze, so Gastly should have been fine. She knew the pokemon didn't like strong winds since it basically would get blown away. She tossed the pokeball up in the air as she said "Come on out Gastly", the pokeball oening and gastly appearing above her, before moving down as she caught the ball again. Though, the pokemon could see she didn't have her usual smile. "Why the looong face" the pokemon said in plain as day english, before stretching its own face out and turning it to a goofy look, making Verdandi laugh a bit and brought her usual smile back. She openend her eyes though, Gastly had vanished, causing her to look in all directions. "Nothing's wrong, just was sort of lost in thought." she said, continuing to look around. The mischievous little thing was undoubtedly up to something. "You still don't suit it" Gastly's voice said from everywhere and nowhere. It had the tone you'd expect of a ghost pokemon, so most people would have run screaming, especially after she felt a tap on her shoulder and looked to see nothing there.
But to her, it was nothing, she knew exactly who it was, and while she didn't know where, she knew it was trying to scare her or at least make her jump or startle her. "You can do better then that, those little tricks don't work on me." she called out , a slight sing song tone at the end as she laughed a little once more. Knowing the mischievous little ghost type, she wandered off the actual path into the grass to see if she could get him to come out.
