Dani could hardly contain her excitement, in fact, she didn’t even try to—she didn’t see a reason to mask her true feelings if only for the sake of not looking like a giddy little kid. The sixteen year old wouldn’t have cared if someone were to see her bouncing, yes bouncing down the first route that would take her away from New Bark Town and lead her to Cherrygrove Town—the first official stop on her journey. Trailing along beside her was her starter Pokémon who she had received not even 15 minutes ago at the Pokémon Lab.
Her lips curved into an affectionate smile as she peered down at the Cyndaquil who was shuffling behind her, an almost sleepy look etched into his expression. Biting her lip she halted in her march, perhaps a little too abruptly for the little fire pokemon walked right into the back of her legs and fell back onto his bottom with a dazed look on his face. His confusion seemed to wordlessly ask ‘why’d you stop?’ and the burgundy haired teen couldn’t help but to laugh at how cute he looked.
“Sorry little guy, I didn’t mean to stop so suddenly but…I was just thinking that I should give you a name before we go any further. So, hmm. What should we call you…?” Dani tapped her index finger against her chin in contemplation while slowly circling around the Cyndaquil, viewing him from every angle.
“Sora?
” He shook his head. “ I guess you’re right, that name wouldn’t make too much sense if you can’t fly. Silly me. Hm, okay how about…Hikaru?” Again the little creature shook his head and she absently wondered if he could even understand her or if he was merely shaking his head for the fun of it. Her names weren’t that bad, were they? “ Shou?” He seemed to contemplate this name for a moment before the flames on his back flared up and he let out a squeak, affirming that he did indeed like the name. Dani bounced in excitement, clapping her hands together in front of herself and grinning widely, “ Alrighty then, Shou it is! Now that that’s settled I believe we should get back to our blossoming adventure, yeah?” A little over-dramatic, perhaps, but Dani had lead a sheltered life prior to her 16th birthday when she was finally able to convince her parents to let her become a trainer. So in her mind her overexcited attitude was justified. She wasn’t particularly looking for any pokemon—if one were to pop out at her then, of course, she’d be eager to catch it. But she wasn’t purposely searching, she was more or less just on the path to get to the next town. tagged; OPEN words; 457 lyrics; savior – by LIGHTS credit; graphics by Jade :3 [/blockquote]

In the nearby grass, the green rustled as a figure emerged from it; it was a few shades of brown, with a long tail and ears. She had become curious when it heard voices, and happily went to check it out. However, her siblings told her that it was a bad idea, however she promised that she wouldn't go too far, and that she wouldn't talk to strangers. Although they doubted that, her siblings unwillingly let her go to check things out. Lifting her self onto her tail to get a better look, the Scout Pokemon looked curiously towards where the Pokemon and human were. She hadn't seen much of humans, only from a distance; she wasn't allowed to get too close to them because her parents told her that humans were dangerous. But this one couldn't be that bad, could she?
Quietly the Sentret got back down on all fours and scuttled to the nearest grass where she could hide, before popping her head out of the side and watched them as she hid. The Cyndaquil seemed to suddenly become happy as it squealed and a fire erupted on it's back; the girl clapped as well. How strange..... Humans were strange, weren't they. They weren't normal. And Pokemon that were controlled by humans weren't, either. Guess she would have to live with that, wouldn't she? Scuttling past another clump of grass, the Sentret got a little closer to observe the duo; the girl looked older than what her siblings explained how many trainers looked like when they traveled past here. Now she was really curious.

<"You people are really weird,"> she muttered as she scuttled closer, ducking behind yet another bush as she spied on the human and Pokemon. However, she was most likely close enough to be spotted by the two as well.

It was a sunny day out, and quite enjoyable. Sure, Epsilon, commonly referred to as simply "Hei", was dressed in all black, but it didn't bother him too much. His jacket/coat was sleeveless, and so far, the heat wasn't getting to him. Yet. However, that didn't mean it might not later on. Shrugging off his heat concerns for now, he brought his mind to his true intentions.
Currently around Route 29, he was well aware that new trainers would probably be coming through. Seeing as he had free time, he figured he would try to help or talk to some of them. Besides, you never knew, maybe one of them would be a challenger some day. It was always nice to have at least a little background information... Chuckling to himself and sweeping some hair out of his face, Hei found himself amusing, as odd as it sounded. His competitive side, and his want to defend his title, was still different from his overall personality.
Continuing through the trees, he heard voices ahead. Making his way closer, he soon spotted a young girl with red hair. She had one of the Johto starter pokemon with her: Cyndaquil. And it seemed they were discussing something. Walking even closer, but still staying partially hidden by the trees, he simply observed them. He would have liked to confront her and talk a bit, but he found that usually, new trainers found him quite intimidating when they first met him. Hei didn't want to scare the poor girl away, and she seemed so happy. Smiling, he was glad he stumbled upon a bright trainer, who's spirit seemed excited and determined. That was always a good sign for a trainer-in-the-making.
While he didn't want to seem like a stalker, following her in the shadows, he decided not to approach on his own. If she noticed him, he'd surely reveal himself. But for now, it would be more interesting to simply see her act naturally. New trainers were always fascinating.
(This sounds awkward. I need to get more used to Hei's personality...)
