MATTHEW ALDWIN ADRIS
***
NAME: Matthew Aldwin Adris
NICKNAMES: Matt
GENDER: Male
AGE: 15
SPEICES: Human
SEXUALITY: Bi
HOME: Pewter City
OCCUPATION: Trainer but a bit of a Performer for fun
TYPE OF CHOICE: Stubborn pokemon. A pokemon with some heart.
THEME SONG: 'Grace Kelly" - Mika
APPERANCE: One might feel to care about what they look like but Matt do not. His hair is a perfect example of this. The mess that covers his head wishes it could be handled by a hair dresser or even a breeder. Random lengths of hair that never pass his shoulders frame his face. His sickle is to blame for that since he just hates when it gets in his face or touches his back. The positive thing is it’s soft and controlled by hats and/or goggles. His black hair reminders people of Poochyena sometimes but he figures it to be a joke rather than a pretty accurate statement.
Since the fur on his head states wild pokemon one would assume him to be a wild child. His body says yes but his personality, no. Matt is a slightly tan fellow. He is outside all the time only leaving when invited in somewhere or going to a Pokemon center. Scar on his arms record his travels up trees and rocks to hunt down berries for dinner. His climbs have not only marked him but made him stronger and quicker. Muscles on his arms are nothing like a Machoke’s but more lean to fit his body. The body of a teen who has a layer of muscle that is visible naked but not showing through clothes.
One thing he doesn’t even have to think about is his natural born features. His eyes are a warm brown showing his emotions as well as his face. His ability to keep secrets is heavily damaged with one glance into those meek pools. His face is a harder version of his mothers. He doesn’t mind this but he feels his father babied his more because of it. His ears are tucked close to his face usually hidden by his hat or hair if not cut to short on that side.
The last note is about what covers all of this. The only thing that changes with change outfit is his shirt. He is always wearing plain colored cargo pants. Always in a color of nature but never a bright color. Sometimes tucked into his black boots or other times allowed to drag on the ground freely. Plus, those boots are his only boots. He has one pair and when he loses them he walks bare foot until he finds or buys more. His gloves, goggles and hat are things he brought from home. They let his endure all types of weather and sitcuations. His upper wear though has some diversity. He wears a t-shirt or sleeveless depending on when he can find that day. Then in his bag he has a coat for winter and a sweat shirt for any other cool weather.
PERSONALITY: Strangers and friends alike may all call him Matt. He is a friendly and trusting person. One who would take a blow for his pokemon if he knew it wouldn’t insult their pride and save their life. An unmoving personality when serious and eager to take up any challenge thrown at him. He wants to do his best to be a role model for his Pokemon and siblings so he always tries his best. He believes in earning what you have and he will not accept gifts of any kind. A pity gift is not his thing and even if it isn't he will take it as one. When asking something he seems to look and sound threatening. If you think he looks threatening then talk for a bit and you will find a man with no back bone when hit with kindness.
When around adults or important figures he is mindful and slightly shy. He speaks his mind but tries to stay kind. Embarrassed over the smallest things and has a hard time hiding those emotions. Matt tries to keep a straight face but always ends up showing his heart on his sleeves. Hearing chuckles out of his pokemon when he does something that will be laughed at around the camp fire that night. On the flip side of that it means he get angry easily. He snaps quickly but apologizes faster when he cools off like he caused the world to end.
If you aren't that important and you are in his age group he acts like his normal self. A straight not caring face that changes easily as he can't hide emotions that well. He can come out as rude but if you ask anything of him he will do it even if he puts up a fuss. Even so he seems to drive people away so he is usually left to travel alone. He collects pokemon that can put up with him or share his problem.
When he is comforable with you or when being serious he let's he rude side show. His anger isn't as controlled. In battle is where it is mostly seen. When he gets really into it he gets this cocky tone and his face loses its nice cover. When alone with his pokemon he likes to bring his side out but he knows when to act nice. He knows his favorite pokemon will be one who shares this cocky additude.
Battles are not his goal in have pokemon but he does them. In training he does it right along side them. Of course he knows his human limits but that doesn’t stop him from trying to spar his pokemon which always ends in his loss when they use inhuman moves. His fighting style is hit them please, please just hit them. He is all for dishing out moves and he enjoys pokemon who can take a hit and don't mind getting beat. He sees defeat as a chance to get stronger and needs pokemon who can grow from that just like him. A weird point in his battles is that if given the chance he likes to put on a small show. Attacks that reflect his circus dream but he needs to learn how to work them into good battles.
One could see Matt as a loner. He sleeps in the woods even when near a town and doesn’t usually even hint wanting human company. He wouldn’t mind a friend or stranger to take care of and/or travel with but he is too shy to ask anyone that. Alone with his pokemon a lot he shows them magic tricks and performances he learned/made in his spare time. His pan flute gets them through the boring days and his cooking lets them enjoy each other’s company. His relaxed nature with the environment he chooses to be in let’s others see a much more open side of his personality.

HISTORY:
Matt was born in the Kanto region. The third born in a family that would grow to be 6 strong. He was born during a more relaxed time for his parents. His father was retired while his mom taught the pokemon that chose to stay with them how to enjoy life. His two older siblings that he hardly met were already out on their own adventures. Like all kids he grew up going to day care and then classes to learn about the world and pokemon. It helped that he had pokemon casually living in the house but many others had that luxury too.
So he lived a normal life with normal parents and normal friends but like all kids he wanted to be a little different. So kids found their distinct identity in clothes. Matt remembered some kids picking out dreams and trying to start them early. Matt found his in a local gentleman. A nice gent who would show him tricks when he was bored of fawning over wild pokemon. He was part of a small traveling group who stayed for a week doing a few shows for fun. When they left Matt was inspired. He found his father’s goggles from when he was a tamer and tried to pull off the look of a real trainer.
Around 7 now he found his goal and dream like many of his friends. He became a hardworker instead of a slacker as the age of 10 started to get closer. Soon many of his friends would be leaving him to start adventures but he hadn’t even thought that far. He was still trying to learn more tricks and his training bud Charizard was showing him the ropes to respecting a pokemon. A few times his silbings came for visits. To eat and borrow money was usually all the wanted with a few chats. During those times Matt and his new little brother would play with their pokemon. He would learn all he could from them and then be a nosy younger brother asking the two about their journey and what was out in the world. Compared to the small town they lived in the world seemed amazing.
When he hit 10 he like many of his friends went to get their first pokemon but when he arrived he felt himself not ready. He left the town splitting up with his friends with no pokemon. For about 5 years he worked at a pokemon daycare. He entertained and trained pokemon but at some point he found it unfulfilling. It was at that time that he traveled to Johto. He needed a fresh start and he felt his life at the daycare taught him enough about pokemon to finally give him the courage to get his own.
So he arrived here on a boat a few days ago and now is slowly getting up the nerve to continue on to the lab.
