Cherrygrove Town. A truly peaceful and quaint little town. Epsilon was still on Route 29, honestly, but he was rather close to the town. Seeing as the day was nice and a comfortable temperature, he decided to let his pokemon out of their pokeballs. He only had three pokemon at the moment, since he didn't see it necessary to carry his entire team around traveling along the routes that new trainers commonly took.
"Umbreon, Absol, Dusknoir, come out!" he said as he threw the pokeballs into the air. The three pokemon popped out of them, appearing after a bright flash of white light. Absol and Umbreon stretched, as if they'd just woken up. Epsilon wouldn't completely doubt they literally had just woken up. It was early in the morning after all. Dusknoir, however, well... "Where is Dusknoir?" he thought, looking around. Sudden movement in the shade of the trees caught his attention. Pinpointing where the noise was coming from, Epsilon walked towards it. The sight was, rather amusing. His Dusknoir, who had been in countless intense battles, against countless, ruthless trainers, was...hiding behind a tree. Sighing, Epsilon shook his head.
"What is so scary, Ducknoir?" he asked. The giant ghost pokemon pointed a thick shaky finger straight ahead.
"D-Dusknoir..." he said. Turning around, curious, the dark haired man wasn't too sure what he was looking at. Squinting his eyes due to the sunlight, it then hit him. "The light! Of course!" Laughing a bit, he flashed an apologetic smile towards his pokemon.
"Sorry Duscknoir, I forgot you did not like bright sunlight. Return." Holding out his pokeball, Dusknoir disappeared from sight. Shrinking the storage device and attaching it to his belt again, Epsilon turned back towards Umbreon and Absol. However, it seemed that only Umbreon remained. Walking out fully onto the dirt path, both him and the lunar pokemon stared in the direction of Cherrygrove Town.
"He went ahead, did he not?" he asked, in a slightly wistful tone. Umbreon merely nodded her head. Sighing, a slightly sad look came to his eyes.
"We might as well hurry. There is bound to be something ahead." And with that, him and Umbreon sprinted towards the town.
When they arrived, Epsilon was horrified at the sight before him. Civilians were all gathered in a circle, chanting words that he would have liked to have had refrained. However, more than the words, it was the actions that worried him the most. They were throwing things, although what specifically wasn't clear. Although he couldn't see the target, he could easily assume who it was.
"It's the disaster pokemon!"
"Get it out of here!"
"Our town will be destroyed!"
Eyes narrowing, the dark clad man's fists and teeth started to clench. Thrusting his way through the crowd, he was soon face-to-face with Absol, Umbreon right behind him. Sticks, stones, and some houseware were scattered along the ground, some still in hand of the people.Standing in front of his pokemon, he put himself between the townspeople and his pokemon, Umbreon on the other side.
"This Absol belongs to me. And even if he did nt, it would make no difference. The rumor about Absol being a "disaster pokemon" is completely false, there is no truth in the legend at all," he said. His voice was calm and level, yet his anger was still evident. The crowd seemed to waver a bit, some of the items in their hands lowered. However, there were still some who help onto them, ready to strike. No one moved an inch though.
"It all depends on what happens next. Or who makes the first move. Then, we will see what happens." he thought grimly.
