Raina stretched with a yawn as she woke up, her ears twitching a bit before she rubbed her head and then the ears. She winced slightly and realized she had been sleeping on her tail again, which the pain didn't last long but it was still sore. When she had first gone out for her badges, she had been using her moms Raichu, which at one time had been the pikachu used to well, make her this, but it had decided it wanted to evolve so her mom had gotten a thunderstone. Though admittedly, Raina had gotten a weird feeling with it around till it was all used up on the pikachu. But she and the other couple pokemon she ahd borrowed had wanted to go back to being with her mom, and she had no reason to object, they were hers after all.
She opened the door and was immediately knocked to the floor, dazed a second before she heard and all to familiar "Rai.. Rai" and giggled. "Hi Rai Rai" she said with a smile and gave the Raichu a hug. It may have been attached to her mom, but Raina had always been a close second. She paused a second, before replying in it's own language that she needed to get off so Raina could get up and get ready. The good thing about being this hybrid was she understood what pikachu's and it's different forms said and could reply in more then just English. The Raichu happily hopped off and followed her down the stairs as she went to go eat breakfast. She hurried up and ate quickly, ignoring her moms suggestion to slow down. She bounded up the stairs, put on her running shoes and her usual yellow top and shorts, and ran back down the stairs again. "I'll see ya later mom, tell Vera Hi if she stops in!" she called out, stopping outside the door a moment to orient herself. What way was pallet town again.. oh, right, south. She quickly started sprinting, making full use of the agility being part pikachu afforded her as she sprinted from Veridian city all the way to Pallet town, laughing happily all the way, not botheing to go around some bushes and just jumping over them.
She was there by non, slowing down as she got to the lab and walking through the door with just as much energy as when she left the house. Though, she didn't see anyone around. "Hey professssooorrrrr" she said in a sing song tone, starting to wander around the lab but not touching anything. Hopefully they weren't out of starters.. and hopefully she could get something neat like an Abra, but she knew they didn't give those out often, but hey, she could hope right?

Professor Oak had been out of the lab for quite some time that day, half of that time was spent to his research as per usual, however, surprisingly, the rest of his time had been spent visiting with neighbors. Being the Pokemon Professor of Kanto meant that he was the one who met and helped each new aspiring trainer so needless to say he was well-liked in the community and had a decent amount of friends. Everyone loved Professor Oak. Perhaps it also helped that he was the stereotypical friendly old man, he was like that grandfather you have that goes out of his way to help others, putting their needs in front of his own.
He cast a quick glance at the wrist watch strapped to his right wrist and did a double take, he didn't mean to stay out for that long...he needed to get back to the lab and finish up some work that he had neglected to take care of earlier. Luckily the walk back to his place of work wasn't very far, only a couple blocks, but for an old man he was in remarkable shape--mainly because he was always on the move, his research took him all over the region.
When Oak got back to the lab he noticed that the door was cracked open a smidgen signifying that someone had stopped by and perhaps was still there? The older man pushed open the door and slipped inside, his eyes landing on the anomaly that was the Pikachu Pokemorph who was wandering around his lab. Tearing his eyes off of the peculiar ears and tail protruding from her body, he plastered on a kind smile and wandered forward, "Hello, how can I help you? "[/blockquote]

Raina was curious as to why it seemed the lab was empty, but her ears twitched as she heard a voice behind her and she turned her head to look over her shoulder. She saw a older man in a white lab coat with grayed hair, which judging from his appearance, she figured he was the professor Oak she had always heard about as a kid and seen pictures of on TV once in a while.
"Hi, you must be professor Oak, right?" she said with a smile, turning around, "My names Raina Devreaux, my mom's pokemon wanted to go back to staying at home with her.. soooo, I need my own starter pokemon now, even if I do kind of count as one." she said with a smile, more then willing to make a joke about her own appearance and condition. She couldn't change what she was, but then again even if she could she wouldn't want to. Though, as she thought of it, she was kind of curious as to if he'd seen anything like her before.. besides maybe on the news.

Professor Oak hadn't run into very many Pokemorphs in his life, they were still a fairly new species that had come into existence within the past decade or so and not too much was really known about them. He had to admit that he was quite intrigued by the concept of a half human-half pokemon being. He shook away the thoughts, that was the scientist side of him taking over and he needed to not be a scientist at this moment--he needed to be the Pokemon Professor.
Oh, so that made sense. She was an aspiring trainer then, interesting. Professor Oak thought that the situation was rather unusual, but not in a bad way. He enjoyed her eager and friendly nature, "Very well. " He smiled kindly, " Any particular pokemon that you had in mind to start with? Or would you like for me to let them out so you could see them?" [/blockquote]

Raina paused a bit as she was asked if she had one in mind or if he should let them out and then she choose. Part of her wanted to say let them out, but then again, she knew what she'd like to have, the question is could she get it? "Actually professor, I was hoping I could get something like an Abra" she said energetically, and bouncing up and down on her feet a bit. Some of her friends said how they always seemed useless cause they could usually only teleport, but Raina didn't share that view, she thought they were cool and cute at the same time. "But if you don't have any, then I'd have to see... cause I don't think having a flying type or a water type would be a good idea...last I recall they aren't fond of electricity, and I have plenty stored up" she said, giving a little yelp as some unexpectedly crackled across her cheeks and fingers. "Hehe, sorry, really excited" she said, slightly embarrassed. Luckily the bolt hadn't arced to anything in the lab or the professor. That would have made it far more embarrassing. It wasn't that she didn't have fairly good control.. but little bits got loose when she was excited or startled or upset.

He couldn't help but to smile at her enthusiasm, he found her overall personality to be quite refreshing. When her specific choice in pokemon came out he felt his lips tipping into a small frown. Most new trainers who came through there either didn't know what they wanted or they did know, and it was always the same three pokemon names that he heard uttered by them. Squirtle. Charmander. Bulbasaur.
Not many people were bold enough to take on an Abra as their starter, they were pretty lazy as far as pokemon went--though, of course, not as lethargic as, say, Snorlax. And they were incredibly flighty, teleporting from any situation that they deemed too uncomfortable to be apart of. Was this really the pokemon that she wanted? He wouldn't lie, Abra were wonderful pokemon--but probably not the best choice for a first pokemon.
"Are you quite certain that that's what you want? " He asked before turning on his heel and heading towards the back, coming out moments later with a backpack in one hand and a shiny red and white pokeball in the other. " Here you are, my dear." Oak smiled kindly, " If you're sure this is the pokemon you'd like to start with then good luck, and please remember to stay safe!" Nickname: Your choice! Raina tilted her head to the side slightly as she noted the slight frown when she said Abra. Had other people taken all of them. Then she heard him ask if she was certain that was her first choice. "Yes, I'm certain, everyone always asks for those other ones, and while they may not be the most energetic pokemon, they have a lot of potential." she said with a happy smile. She had done her research, she knew they slept most of the day, but that they could still use their abilities, not to mention if he didn't have any offense, she could always go to celadon city or something and try to get a TM for it, if the Abra was willing to actually let her use it on it.
She watched as the professor came back with a pokeball and a bag, and her smile only widened. She quickly but still having some politeness in it took the bag and pokeball from the professor, betting both situated before throwing her arms around the professor in a hug and managing to keep her voice just below shouting as she said thank you. "Yes, I'm sure it's what I want and I"ll be safe." she said as she let go, laughing as she bolted out the door. First, she was going to find out more about her new Abra.. then probably head to Celadon city. After all, chances were it would be a low level Abra and not really have much in the offense department, and while still far from useless (teleport would certainly come in handy), it did make it a little one dimensional, and she knew from experiences that being one dimensional was not usually a good thing.
