Here at the Orphanage is where all children who have lost their families, been taken away from their families, or have been abandon will stay until they get adopted out. Many aren't much older than ten years old, seeing as how they are allowed to go on Pokemon journeys at the age of ten. However, there are a few whom decided to stay and wait for a family. Trainers and those who have Pokemon are allowed to come and visit the orphans and allow their Pokemon to play with them during recess. Some orphans have Pokemon, however they are usually of the smaller class, such as canines and unevolved Pokemon. There are some orphans under the age of ten whom are adopted out to trainers who are mentors; they travel with this trainer and the trainer allows them to learn from them. However there are a few papers that that person needs to sign, and technically they are not a part of their family unless that person's parents come along and adopts them.
