The house, though long abandoned, had a strange feel about it. Almost as if the worn wood that made up its walls was still alive. Alive and watching. Invisible eyes seemed to stare from every angle, catching all light and movement and leaving nothing behind. It was unnerving to say the least. And she only had to make it worse by deciding to come during the night. Less chance of being seen, she had thought, Less chance of getting caught. The idea had seemed logical at the time, but still the small superstitious tingles that ran up and down her spine made her wonder if maybe, just maybe, it would have been better to come during daylight. Maybe the eyes wouldn't have stared so sharply then.
Oh cut it out! she cursed herself. You're acting like a foolish child. She drew in a deep breath through her mouth. The most sinister thing you're going to find here is a few ghost Pokemon just looking to have a little fun with the idiot who was stupid enough to walk right into their home at the eeriest time of night. That is all. There will be no real ghosts, no real danger, just a few mischievous Pokemon and hopefully some loot. Her stomach let out a soft growl, as if in response to her new train of thought. It has been far too long since I've gotten hired. What are those blasted teams getting up to anyway? You'd think at least one of them would need my help. She sighed. Or at least some bitter rich couple would need me to 'help' with their divorce settlement. She pulled back a strand of hair that had freed itself from her loosely-tied ponytail. This slump has seriously got to end soon.
Her earlier fears long since forgotten, she began to walk forward, heading deeper into forsaken mansion. Just as she made her way across half of the foyer, she paused. Wait. There are Pokemon here, right? She lifted a ball from her belt and , with a flash, a Houndoom appeared before her. "Loki, keep an eye out for any trouble." She received a short bark from her companion in response. Let's see what we can get up to.
